Focus of Work Summer 09: Subject/Grade/Project/Objectives
The K-5 librarians will create an outline of the information literacy skills for using the different media resources available in our libraries, including digital, print, audio, and visual. The specific skills for grades K, 1, and 2 will form the basis for meeting with teachers and planning collaborative inquiry activities in all curriculum areas. This is a continuation of the work begun last summer for grades 3 through 5.
The secondary librarians (grades 6-12) will work together on information/technology literacy, building on last summer’s skills outline for grades 3-5. We will focus on our subscription databases and online catalogs as information resources and identify specific grade-appropriate topics and activities for using them effectively.
The entire group will share strategies for successful inter-disciplinary collaboration with teachers.
